What the organisation contributed

In Britain, the British Broadcasting Company began daily transmissions from station 2LO on 14 November 1922. The BBC developed a licence-funded public-service model. The BBC began the world's first regular public high-definition television service in November 1936, initially alternating Baird's mechanical system with the EMI-Marconi electronic system before adopting the latter.

Distributes recurring audio programmes to large unknown audiences without individual paths or copies. Distributes synchronised moving images and sound to large dispersed audiences without separate physical copies.
