Serious professional athletes are not using recreational drugs. This drug culture needs to be weeded out, pun intended, as fast as possible.
I think drug use among athletes is actually very common, in particularly coke, you have seen top tier athletes like Cameron Munster and Brandon Smith flaunt it on their insta.
I know from friends who have witnessed that coke use amongst pro cricketers and rugby players is extreme.
The reason is pretty clear.
The buzz is top notch and it is 'healthy' and clean in the sense it doesnt affect athletic performance, put on weight (like alcohol) and it is out of your system the next day.
Alot of fitness type influencers will not drink but do coke as an alternative, it is pretty widespread.
i dont do it myself because anything that gets sniffed directly to your brain creeps me out, and I do know one girl that developed a severe life altering addiction. But i know people that see coke as no different than a friday night beer, affordability aside.
