Opening post

It's game day baby! My starting XI is largely the same. Wouldn't mind seeing Antum get a go despite the fact he's a loser.

1. Wesley MADHEVERE

2. Antum NAQVI

3. Brian BENNETT

4. Sikandar RAZA

5. Dion MYERS

6. Johnathan CAMPBELL

7. Clive MADANDE

8. Luke JONGWE

9. Wellington MASAKADZA

10. Richard NGARVA (Chatara if injuries require)

11. Blessing MUZURABANI
Is anybody aware of whether Naqvi can actually play yet? There were whispers his passport still didn't work itself out for the first game.

As I said, he has a citizenship, not sure the passport is an issue, he’s got four other passports if he needs to travel.

Nobody has said Knackers is a loser? Where did that come from?

A wealthy manipulator of a corrupt system yes, loser no.

Once again I’d like to see a few low scores from him in a winning cause. The number of initial chances he gets would likely be dependent on his first installment. Subsequent appearances may cost 100k ea if he’s not delivering 😂

Price may vary a little, but at least one player there will know the approximate figure 😂

I spoke to a couple of guys who watched India in the nets. Maphosa, Nungu and mubaiwa were getting them out repeatedly.
I don't think wealthy kids should skip the queue over deserving underprivileged cricketers. He knows damn well he's paid cold money for his place, and he shouldn't forget it.
Gee this topic is boring , money doesn't buy ability though does it ?

Don’t change a winning side as they say.

Kaia was unlucky with a big inside edge which could have easily have gone to the boundary

Campbell was sold down the river

Bowlers performed out of their skin

I completely agree, it didn't buy him ability in the North Yorkshire and South Durham league. 😂

Muzondo and mubaiya are two players who I'm surprised didn't make the cut for this squad. ..Actually no I'm not surprised as we have our other non spinning all rounder welly 😬😬.

Shumba up top against pace in place of Kaia? You don't want to meddle too much with a winning team.

Horror show for Wellington.

Wes sold him out there

Tino: 'Wessly Madhevere has been really out of sorts today'

Try the last two years.
ZCF Hall of Famer
Tino is a big fan of Wes’, he’s pumped him up for years.

“Selectors” will look at the scorecard and he’s penned in for the next 20 games.

That length u can’t come down to, can’t really safely sweep, can’t quite pull is deadly.

Back foot punch for one is the only safe shot. 😂

Some guys play it well by getting down on one knee really early and then set up for a pull sweep or a pick up sweep over 45.

Maybe u can run down once or twice if u leave late. It’s vexing.

Wes’ is batting himself to the worst 50 in the history of T20.
ZCF Hall of Famer
43 off 39 is really terrible, but it will probably be considered a fantastic innings by Wes and the selectors and the coaches and our entire setup and most of the fans in the ground.
ZCF Hall of Famer
They’ve got a couple of days to learn a couple of shots to deal with Bishnoi.

95-100kph off cutters, just back of a length. It’s also where height is an advantage as a batsman. U can stand and deliver a few, but if you’re shorter it makes it really difficult. You have to play square.

One would like to think the curator and groundsman will be politely asked why they prepared a batting track 😂
ZCF Hall of Famer
It’s the same as Jongwe’s innings. No pressure and hasn’t batted that well, but he’s in for a while after that, despite a terrible spell with the ball.

U still want Kaia after these 2 games
ZCF Hall of Famer
Kaia will be in and out for many years to come. Every time a least favorite fails he’ll get games to remind folk they’re guests in this game they’ve taken to new lows.
ZCF Hall of Famer
Harsh. Kaia isn’t a terrible player. He’s decent, albeit this obviously isn’t his best format and he’s been poor recently.

I’d have him in my Test XI in Ireland opening with Gumbie

Campbell looked a bit out of his depth today which is concerning. I hope he is given the five games to test him out. Gut feel is that Myers has enough nouce to work it out.

Jongwe is not adding anything to the side as a bowler or a batter, nor is Wellington due to the amount of bowling options in the top 6. Would try and squeeze another batter in there.

Will be interesting to see if they move Bennett up to open or bring in Marumani. Have been surprised by the same if sizes of Bennett's sixes. Even though he is tall he is not a big guy but has hit 13 sixes in 12 games.
