About Takura

I build software for places where the consequences are real. Money moves, customers complain, reports need to balance, and a bug is not just a bug if it can invoice someone by mistake.

By day, I run Keridan and work on systems for financial institutions and credit operations. By night, I publish across a growing ecosystem: Takura Nyagumbo for personal and builder content, Clueless Pundit for computing history, Clueless Pundit 2 for colder documentary commentary, and Lace Up for running and athletic discipline.

Origin story: I taught myself to code at 15 on an HP-11C calculator. No YouTube, no Stack Overflow, no AI, just stubbornness and a machine that barely qualifies as forgiving.

I am drawn to building and explaining. Building because reality is stubborn and needs persuasion. Explaining because half the technology industry communicates like it is being paid by the fog machine.

What I build

Practical software, usually in the category where the phones ring if the system falls over.

  • Credit operations software for workflows, collections, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Interfaces with discipline that feel modern without turning into a glowing carnival.
  • Automation and data systems where auditability matters as much as speed.

What I publish

Stories, frameworks, and commentary that respect context instead of pretending every problem was born in San Francisco.

  • Coding in Africa for career maps, trade-offs, and practical tech realities.
  • Clueless Pundit for archival computing history and invention stories.
  • Lace Up! for running lessons, athletic structure, and honest post-mortems.

How I work

I have no patience for hand-wavy claims. If we cannot measure it, test it, or at least describe it clearly, it is probably marketing.

  • Systems over slogans
  • Clarity over buzzwords
  • Clear identities over muddled presentation
